Hotter Than July - Last Day of September at Blakeney Point & Cley

On a weekend of great light for photography, not to mention the high temperatures, I headed back to Norfolk.  First stop was the very pleasant trek to Blakeney Point in the morning sun.

The view up to the point - what lies ahead....? :


....not much as it happens.  The unseasonal weather meant unseasonal bird life, with few migrants on the Norfolk coast. 

Despite this the walk was superb, with some juvenile Gannets fishing over the sea at regular intervals:









A few Dunlin were resting on the shingle:



There was very little at the Point except for a Kestrel, a lone Wheatear and Meadow Pipits:



The rest of the day was spent at Cley Marshes, where the sunset proved spectacular in the early evening. This Curlew was feeding until sun down:
